Cannot create route

After I animate a marker then click "create route" I am no longer able to plot way points. The curser does not change from the hand to cross hairs to enable adding a route.
Any existing maps are no longer able to be added to but existing routes can be altered by dragging existing way points.
The same issue for shapes - cannot add shapes to my map.

I am surprised that I seem to be the only user with this problem.
Have tried Chrome, Firefox, IE on Win7 and Firefox on Linux (Linux Mint 16) with the same result.

I have the same problem on an Imac using Google chrom and other browsers.

ive found the same thing using chrome & safari - are you both on osc mavericks?

this is probably due to the fact that the sites uses the old Google Maps api

Any solution to that? I'm stuck into my first map   

From win7 x64 I tried with Firefox, Internet Explorer (9 and 10), Chrome. In none of them the "route trace" work.
I tried from Ipad1 with Safari and there is the same problem.
The cursor never change, only "the hand".
I try creating:
- new clean map
- new clean map with KLM from google maps.

The strange things is that in the left colum, under shape, there are the various line that I trace (randomly for test, because I couldn't see) but it hasn't visible on the map.

How could I resolve this problem?

A solution or a comment from the staff is really appreciated.

One year has passed from the first post of this type of error and nothing is change. No one answer with a suggestion or ask for details.
So I think this project is dead!

My tip is use: use other product like "vasco da gama".

Animaps is the first Google search result when searching for animated maps. I just spent an hour watching the video tutorials, signing up, drafting my first map then hit this same problem. Using an older version of Firefox I thought perhaps my browser should be Google-preferred, so tried Chrome, still without joy. Now I find this forum topic saying the issue has been around for one year!

Animaps people - will you not update your code to use the new Google interface? Or petition Google to continue supporting the old API for your app? Please write *something* here - even if it's just to formally let people know you're dropping this project. (In that case, maybe also say so on your homepage to save others spending time learning and signing up like I did).

I contacted Animaps via their contact form about this issue and received a reply saying they are in fact updating their product.
